My New Work Uniform

OK I know that uniforms are far from cool, but I ruined 2 pair of Citizens jeans last summer and countless tops from accidentally getting makeup on them while I'm working.  Argh!!!  So frustrating right?!

So I've been racking my brain for some ideas to save my clothes, but still look half decent.  And I think I hit the jackpot!!!!

So my business colours are black and pink...
And I really wanted to tie into those colours.

So then I found these black t-shirts on line with the most awesome sayings on them.  I LOVE them!!!

hahahahhaha!!!!  I love it, what do you think????  So fun and I won't be ruining my clothes anymore!

Boudoir Photo Shoot with Chris Melanson and Susan

Back in late January I had the pleasure to work with photographer Chris Melanson and model Susan for a really fun boudoir photo shoot.

Chris has taught for the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University in Halifax (NSCAD), worked as a fashion photographer's assistant in Paris and as a commercial photographer and designer in Toronto and has just recently moved back to the maritimes.

Here are some of the images that he captured of the beautiful and sweet Susan.

Happy St Patrick's Day!!!

Happy St. Patricks's Day!!!  It's a little late in the evening on St Patrick's Day, so please forgive me if my spelling and grammar are a little off tonight.  I may have had a beer or two tonight, in the name of celebrating my roots!

I thought I would dedicate this post to green inspired makeup, in dedication to St Patrick's Day.  "When Irish eyes are smiling..."  :)

This is a super simple, single shade of green eyeshadow application.  Easy breezy beautiful!

A more dramatic green inspired look...

And since we are vacationing in Jamaica this spring, how about a Jamaica inspired eye look, cause there is some green in the flag!

Hope you all have a happy and healthy St. Patricks Day!!!  Cheers!!!

The Royal Ascot at Gingerwood Estates

Last night we attended the Behind the Red Velvet's annual fundraiser gala, which raises money for youth programming at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown.  The event took place at Gingerwood Estates, home of Danny and Marty Murphy and the theme was the Royal Ascot.  So that meant all the women had to wear hats or fascinators of some sort and the men were all in tux and top hat.

Here are some pictures from throughout the course of the night.

Here I am at the hair salon, my hair was styled by Cheryl Weeks.  This was pre makeup stage folks.

And before leaving for the event, with makeup and dress on.

Here we are arriving at the reception, which was at the horse stable.

And inside the stables...

Drinks were mint juleps of course!

After the reception we were bused over to the house for the remainder of the evening.  Starting with dinner, auction then finishing with a dance.
The horse theme was continued everywhere, even the centre pieces!

Me and my hubby...

The main course...

and dessert...

The official horse race of the evening...

And someone thinks he's royalty...

Quick Brow Update & Eye Shadow of the Day

So I've been growing my brows out now for a few weeks.  I think I may have to throw in the towel.  I can't stand all those stray hairs!!!  They're driving me crazy and I think I can hear my tweezer calling out for me :)

So here are my brows today:

I'm heading out on a date tonight with my husband :)  So I decided to go for a more dramatic/colourful eye today.  I love purple eye shadow, it looks great on every eye colour.  I used 2 purple eyeshadows from the Yaby "Best of Both World's" palette, with some black in the outer corner.

I really don't know if I can stand to grow out my brows any longer...just like I can't remember what my natural hair colour is, I may just have to accept not knowing my natural brow shape either!

Have a great weekend!

I announced last week on my Face Book page that I'm having a contest for the month of March.  I'm planning on doing some contests from time to time.  Maybe not every month but whenever I have the chance to do so.
