The Royal Ascot at Gingerwood Estates

Last night we attended the Behind the Red Velvet's annual fundraiser gala, which raises money for youth programming at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown.  The event took place at Gingerwood Estates, home of Danny and Marty Murphy and the theme was the Royal Ascot.  So that meant all the women had to wear hats or fascinators of some sort and the men were all in tux and top hat.

Here are some pictures from throughout the course of the night.

Here I am at the hair salon, my hair was styled by Cheryl Weeks.  This was pre makeup stage folks.

And before leaving for the event, with makeup and dress on.

Here we are arriving at the reception, which was at the horse stable.

And inside the stables...

Drinks were mint juleps of course!

After the reception we were bused over to the house for the remainder of the evening.  Starting with dinner, auction then finishing with a dance.
The horse theme was continued everywhere, even the centre pieces!

Me and my hubby...

The main course...

and dessert...

The official horse race of the evening...

And someone thinks he's royalty...

  3. Thanks Susan! I think some serious cash was raised :) And Danny & Marty pledged that they would match all the money that was raised at the auction. Incredible really!

It was a lot of fun, it's not every day that you can get all dressed up, hat and all!
