IMATS Toronto Makeup Haul

So I got in from Toronto last night, and it feels so great to be back home.  It's fun to get away for a little vacation, but it's always so nice to come home again!

The bad news:  when I landed at the Charlottetown airport one of my suitcases did not arrive with me :(

The good news:  the suitcase with all my newly purchased makeup did arrive with me! :)

So I've got makeup, but no clothes!!!  Not to worry though, my suitcase arrived at my house a few hours later on a larger plane because my suitcase was too large for the crappy small little plane we flew home in.  Seriously, it was one of those planes with just one seat on either side of the teeny tiny aisle.  There were only 9 rows of seats and I was in the very last seat.  I could peak through the cracks in the wall behind me and see all the luggage in the back of the plane!!!

But enough of that, let's get on to the good stuff.  I'll be posting a few blogs in the next few days about all the IMATS related stuff, but today is all about the new goodies I bought for my professional kit.

So here we go!

This is all the stuff I got at IMATS this year...

It's hard to see everything so I'll break it down for you, brand by brand.

This is what I bought from NYX:

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss...

NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencils...

And I am soooo in LOVE with this eyeshadow palette from Yaby!!!!  The colours are so beautiful and so intensely pigmented.  I can't wait to try it out!!!  And I also love that Yaby is a Canadian company!

And from another Canadian company, FACE atelier, I bought these 2 lip glazes.

And from Make Up For Ever I bought these 3 HD foundations to add to my kit, I now have 5 colours from the range.

And a MUFE lip pencil...

I also bought 6 Cover FX concealers.  Makeup artist gurus like Kevin James Bennett and Kandee Johnson rave about these, so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

And can you believe that I bought these 9 makeup brushes for under $50!!!  The kabuki brushes were only $6 each, and they are really, really soft!

I bought the Ben Nye Lumiere Grande Colour Palette with 12 amazingly intense and vibrant colours.  I'm so excited about trying these babies out too!  I really think this product is worth all the hype that you hear from other makeup artists.

And the major purchase from the trip.... 2 airbrush systems!!!!!  I bought a large IWATA compressor for body tanning, body painting and temporary tattoo work.  And a small, compact compressor for face work (beauty & bridal makeup).  The large compressor is in the big blue box in the background and the small compressor is the little black thingy in the centre of the photo below.

This is the airbrush makeup that came with the larger system.

This is the smaller system, airbrush gun and the makeup that came with it.

And the necessities:  cleaner, moisturizer, etc...

And last but not least setting powders...

And I also bought a few other things like an eyelash curler, makeup sanitizing spray and some moisturizers and general stuff that I was running low on.

While I was at IMATS I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with Dana Nye from Ben Nye makeup.  He was so generous to all the professional makeup artists at the show, here's what he gave me...

Bond Off, Quick Cleanse, Final Seal, Liquid Set and Neutral Set powder...

These 4 cream foundations...

Lash Shadow, Lumiere Creme Color, Eye Liner Pencil, Neutralizer Creme Crayon,  and Silver Shimmer Crayon...

Ben Nye Fashion Rouge Palette...

Presse Colour Palette quad...

The Essential Eye Shadow Palette...

So that's what I got, I don't think I'll be doing any more makeup shopping anytime soon.  I really don't want to overload my kit, but it is hard sometimes to resist all the beautiful and innovative products hitting the market.

I pretty much purchased everything that was on my wish list.  I did make a list :)  I felt kinda dorky, but I think it's a good idea when going to one of these shows because it can be so over whelming.  I'd love to know what's on your makeup wish list???
